The story is about a girl named Bella (Isabella), who is struggling with alcoholism. Everyone around her seems to want something from her; her parents are divorced, and she feels forced to pretend that everything is fine. As her grades slip and her teachers grow frustrated, Bella feels like she could shatter under the pressure of school, family, and relationships. She deals with deep anxiety, self-doubt, and the fear of not being „enough,“ finding that alcohol is the only way she can forget her pain.
One night at a party, everything changes. Wanting only to escape her feelings, she accidentally drinks far too much. She desperately needs help, but her „friends“ are too scared of getting in trouble with the police. Instead of staying with her, they simply knock on her parents‘ door and leave her alone on the stairs. When her parents open the door, Bella falls and injures her face so badly that they have to call an ambulance.
She wakes up in the hospital, where doctors confirm she has alcohol poisoning. Forced to confront the truth and tell her parents everything, Bella slowly starts the long journey of recovery. She learns to trust others, find true friends, and open up, even though the process is incredibly difficult for her. This book is deeply emotional, sad, but also very realistic.
